But Turkey had an idea...

What if he didn t look like a turkey?

What if he looked like a horse?

Surely Farmer Jake wouldn t eat a horse for Thanksgiving.

In fact, Turkey looked just like a horse...almost.

“Mooooo...,” said Cow. “Stop horsing around, Turkey.”

“How d you know it was me?” moaned Turkey.

“Too short,” said Cow.
“你太矮了,”奶牛说。
“Gobble, gobble,” grumbled Turkey.

“Oink... oink...oink, snorted Pig.“Holy cow! Is that you, Turkey?”

“How d you know it was me?” groaned Turkey.

“Too skinny, ” said Pig.

“Gobble, gobble,” grumbled Turkey.

But looking at Pig gave Turkey a new idea.
可是看着小猪火鸡又有了新主见。
Surely Farmer Jake wouldn t eat a Pig for Thankinggiving.

“Baaa...baaa...,” bleated Sheep.

“Quit being a ham, Turkey.”

“How d you know it was me?” wailed Turkey.

“Too clean,” said Sheep.

“Too brown,” squawked Rooster.

In fact, it was his best idea yet.

He already looked a lot like Rooster.

This costumewould be easy!

Surely Farmer Jake wouldn t eat a rooster for Thanksgiving...

Rooster might be his next choice, Turkey worried, since roosters and turkeys look so much alike.

Farmer Jake came into the barm.
农民杰克走进谷仓。
“Turkey,turkey,turkey?
“火鸡,火鸡,火鸡?
Come out,come out, wherever you are.”

“Where s the turkey?” asked Farmer Jake s wife.
“火鸡去哪里了?”农民杰克的老婆问道。
“I don t know,” he said, “I looked everywhere!”
“我不晓得。”他说“我处处都找过了!”
“Oh, dear. What will do without a turkey for Thanksgiving?”
“哦!亲爱的,假定没有火鸡感恩节咱们该吃啥?”
“Well... we could always eat the rooster, I guess.”
“好吧…我觉得咱们可以吃公鸡。”

Oh, no, not Rooster/thought Turkey.
哦不,不是公鸡!火鸡想道。
He looked around desperately for one more idea.

Then, he found it...

“Happy Thanksgiving!”

“Did you order a pizza?”

asked Farmer Jake s wife.

“Nope,” he said. “But it's a good idea.”

So they all sat down and gobbled up the pizza.
因而他们都坐下了而且饥不择食地吃起了披萨。
And it was Turkey s best Thanksgiving ever!
