　　In his deep, dark lair,

　　Through the long cold winter,

　　sleeps a great brown bear.

　　with his eyes shut tight,

　　he sleeps through the day,

　　he sleeps through the night.

　　The cold winds howl and the night sounds growl.

　　凉风吼叫着，夜风吼怒着。

　　But the bear snores on.

　　An itty-bitty mouse,

　　pitter-pat, tip-toe,

　　creep-crawls in the cave

　　from the fluff-cold snow.

　　心爱的小老鼠啪哒啪哒、蹑手蹑脚、悄然溜进洞里。

　　Mouse squeaks, “Too damp,

　　too dank, too dark.”

　　小老鼠吱吱叫,这儿又湿、又冷、又黑。

　　So he lights wee twigs

　　with a small, hot spark.

　　他点着小树枝，升起了小小的、温暖的火堆。

　　The coals pip-pop and the wind doesn’t stop.

　　柴火劈哩啪啦的烧着，风照常呼呼的吹。

　　But the bear snores on.

　　Two glowing eyes,

　　sneak-peak in the den.

　　一支闪亮的双眼朝洞里窃视。

　　Mouse cries, “Who’s there?”

　　老鼠喊,是谁在那儿?

　　And a hare hops in.

　　这时，野兔跳了进来。

　　“Ho, Mouse!” says Hare."Long time, no see!"

　　“嗨，小老鼠，好久不见！”野兔打招待。

　　So they pop white corn.

　　And they brew black tea.

　　他们一同煮红茶、爆玉米花。

　　Mouse sips wee slurps.

　　小老鼠嗦嗦的喝茶,

　　Hare burps big BURPS!

　　野兔打了个大饱嗝。

　　But the bear snores on.

　　可是大熊仍是在打呼。

　　A badger scuttles by,sniff-snuffs at the air.

　　獾快步的跑来，嗅着空气里的味道。

　　“I smell yummy-yums! Perhaps we can share?

　　“我闻到好吃的东西!你们能不能分我一点?”

　　“I’ve brought honey-nuts,”Badger says with a grin.

　　“我带来了一些蜂蜜坚果，” 獾笑着说，

　　“Let’s divvy them up,cozy down… and dig in!”

　　“咱们我们一同吃个饱……着手吧!”

　　And they nibble and they munch with a

　　CHEW-CHOMP-CRUNCH !

　　他们一同嘎吱嘎吱----喀啦喀啦----格扎格渣!

　　But the bear snores on.

　　可是大熊仍是在打呼。

　　A gopher and a mole tunnel up through the floor.

　　地鼠、鼹鼠挖了地道进来，从地底冒出头来，

　　Then a wren and raven flutter in through the door!

　　乌鸦、鹪鹩也拍着羽翼，从洞口飞了进来!

　　Mole mutters, “What a night!”

　　鼹鼠咕哝着，“今晚气候真糟!”

　　“What a storm!” twitters Wren.

　　“好大的风雪啊!” 鹪鹩吱吱喳喳的叫。

　　And everybody clutters in the great bear’s den.

　　大伙儿在大熊的洞里闹哄哄。

　　They tweet and they titter.

　　他们吱吱喳喳，他们嘻嘻哈哈。

　　They chat and they chitter.

　　他们谈天又谈笑。

　　But the bear snores on.

　　可是大熊仍是在打呼。

　　In a cave in the woods,

　　a slumbering bear sleeps through the party

　　in his very own lair.

　　在森林的窟窿，在他自个的窝里，

　　熟睡的大熊从派对初步一向睡到结束。

　　Hare stokes the fire.

　　野兔添柴把火挑旺。

　　Mouse seasons the stew.

　　小老鼠在汤里加调味料。

　　Then a small pepper fleck

　　Makes the bear………

　　一粒小小的胡椒粒让大熊……

　　He blows and he sneezes,

　　and the whole crowd freezes……..

　　又打喷嚏又哈啾

　　And the bear WAKES UP !

　　BEAR GNARLS，and he SNARLS.

　　BEAR ROARS，and he RUMBLES!

　　BEAR JUMPS ，and he STOMPS.

　　BEAR GROWLS ，and he Grumbles!

　　然后棕熊醒了！它吼怒着！

　　跳着！重重的跺着地！

　　大熊咬牙切齿的吼怒着，大熊又吼又名!

　　大熊跳起来又重重踏步!

　　“You’ve snuck in my lair and you’ve all had fun!

　　“你们悄然跑进我的洞里，玩得那么开心!

　　But me? I was sleeping and…

　　I have had none!”

　　可是我呢?我一向在睡觉，而且啥东西都没吃!”

　　And he whimpers and he moans,

　　he wails and he groans.

　　大熊诉苦着就哭了起来，大熊抽抽噎噎的哭不断，

　　And the bear blubbers on!

　　大熊哇哇大哭了起来!

　　Mouse squeaks,

　　“Don’t fret. Don’t fuss. Look, see?

　　We can pop more corn!

　　We can brew more tea!”

　　小老鼠吱吱叫，“不要哀痛不要哭，你看，

　　咱们可以爆更多的玉米花!

　　煮更多的红茶!”

　　Bear gulps.

　　Bear gobbles.

　　大熊大口的喝，大熊大口的吃。

　　He sighs with delight.

　　他满足的叹了一口气。

　　Then he spins tall tales

　　through the blustery night.

　　在暴风吼叫的夜里，

　　他说了一个长长的故事给火伴们听。

　　When the sun peeks up

　　on a crisp, clear down,

　　Bear can’t sleep….

　　清晨太阳探出头来，风也停了，雪也歇了，

　　大熊却睡不着。

　　But his friends snore on.

　　可是，大熊的兄弟们，却都睡着了。
